The star of 'Anaconda' has appeared in the new version of the horror film
Ice Cube attended the global premiere of the film in Los Angeles
The star of the original horror film Anaconda, Ice Cube, participated in a new Sony Pictures project, appearing in a cameo role in a comedic reimagining of the cult classic.
News of the actor's return came at the global premiere of the film Anaconda, held on December 13, 2025, in Los Angeles. Ice Cube walked the red carpet alongside the main cast and confirmed that, nearly three decades later, he was once again in the Amazonian jungles where he once faced the legendary killer snake.
A Return After Almost 30 Years
In the original 1997 film, Ice Cube played the cameraman Danny Rich. In the new version, his appearance is a cameo and, according to the actor himself, served as a kind of symbolic gesture.
"I think it will be fun for the audience to suddenly see me on screen. With this cameo, it's like I've come full circle. When they invited me and I understood what kind of movie they were making, I agreed immediately because it's something different, and that's cool," Ice Cube commented.
The Filmmakers' Reaction
For the project's team, the participation of the original Anaconda star was a significant event. One of the lead actors, Paul Rudd, jokingly compared getting Ice Cube's agreement to receiving the highest approval.
"For us, it was akin to a blessing from the Pope. You approach, you kneel, you kiss the ring, and he pats you on the head and says, 'Good job, son,'" the actor remarked.
What We Know About the New Anaconda
The creators describe the film as a hybrid of a remake, a reimagining, and a spiritual sequel. According to the plot, the characters played by Jack Black and Paul Rudd, who are experiencing a midlife crisis, decide to fulfill a childhood dream and shoot a remake of their favorite film, Anaconda.
The filming of their low-budget project in the Amazon jungle quickly spirals out of control when a real giant snake appears on set. The wide release premiere of the new version of Anaconda is scheduled for December 25, 2025.
