Captain Atom will appear in the second season of Monster Commandos
A legendary DC character will join James Gunn's animated series.
The second season of the animated series Monster Commandos will feature a number of new heroes, among whom Captain Atom will play a key role. Although details of his involvement are still under wraps, it is known that the character will have a supporting role throughout the season.
Captain Atom in the Series
The series will feature the version of Nathaniel Adam, created by Cary Bates and Pat Broderick, who made his debut in the comic Captain Atom in 1987.
Nathaniel Adam is a United States Air Force veteran and a Vietnam War veteran. After acquiring superpowers, he is catapulted several decades into the future and operates as a hero in the service of the U.S. government. His body is coated in a special metallic alloy, and his powers are of a nuclear nature.
Captain Atom has previously appeared in other DC animated projects, including Justice League: Unlimited, Young Justice, and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. It is not yet known who will voice the character in Monster Commandos. Sources note that this casting could pave the way for the actor to portray Captain Atom in future live-action projects within the new DC Universe.
Creative Team
James Gunn, the creator and writer of the first season, will retain his role as executive producer. The scriptwriter and showrunner for the second season will be Dean Lorey, known for the animated series Harley Quinn.
Filming for the second season has already begun, and fans are eagerly awaiting the new episodes, especially with the addition of this iconic DC character.
