The series Emily in Paris has been renewed for a sixth season

The popular dramedy starring Lily Collins will continue on Netflix following the successful premiere of its fifth season.

Netflix has officially renewed Emily in Paris for a sixth season. The decision was made just two weeks after the release of the fifth season, whose finale ended with several cliffhangers and left viewers eagerly awaiting more. Warning: spoilers ahead.

The renewal confirms the project's enduring popularity and the audience's interest in the further development of the storylines.

Mindy's Fate and an Unexpected Love Triangle

One of the most dramatic plot twists in the fifth season was the storyline of Mindy, played by Ashley Park. After the complicated return of Nicolas de Leon (Paul Forman) into her life, the character seemed to have forgiven past grievances and even accepted his marriage proposal during a romantic Venetian gondola ride.

However, the earlier spark between Mindy and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) has cast doubt on this decision. According to Ashley Park, her character never chooses the easy path.

"Mindy has always taken the harder road if she felt it was right," the actress explained.

Series creator Darren Star noted that the chemistry that emerged between Mindy and Alfie was unexpected even for the show's writers.

Emily and a Role Reversal in Relationships

Unlike her friend, Emily appears more composed and self-assured in the fifth season. After the breakup with Marcello, caused by an awkward mix-up with a ring, the heroine takes control of her own life.

Even the situation with Gabriel—who spent most of the season working as a chef on a yacht and sent Emily a postcard inviting her to Greece—didn't disrupt her emotional balance. Lily Collins emphasized that an important shift has been the change in dynamics between the characters.

According to her, now "it's not Emily who is unsure, but Gabriel."

Both the actress and Darren Star avoid a direct answer on whether Greece will become the main setting for the new season, but they admit the idea of moving the action there excites them greatly.

The Future of Agence Grateau

The third key intrigue revolves around the fate of Agence Grateau. To save the business from severe financial losses, Sylvie (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) was forced to bring in a so-called "white knight"—a powerful investor.

This move might help the agency stay afloat but raises questions about its independence and the future of the entire team. According to the creators, the consequences of this decision will become one of the central themes of the sixth season.
