The fourth season of 'The White Lotus' will be filmed on the French Riviera.
The continuation of Mike White's popular series will unfold on the French Riviera, with a luxurious palace-hotel in Saint-Tropez serving as the central location.
While the creator of The White Lotus, Mike White, is finishing work on the script for the fourth season, the first details about the filming location have emerged online. The new chapter of the story will shift from the exotic destinations of past seasons and move the action to one of Europe's most prestigious resort areas.
Main Location: A Palace-Hotel in Saint-Tropez
The primary setting for the fourth season will be Château de la Messardière — a historic palace-hotel located in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera. The building was erected in the 19th century and is surrounded by an extensive park spanning approximately 13 hectares, featuring pine trees, cypresses, and jasmine.
The hotel is part of the elite Airelles Collection and fully matches the visual and status level viewers have come to expect from previous seasons of the series.
Owners and Level of Luxury
Château de la Messardière is owned by Stéphane Courbit — the founder and head of the media conglomerate Banijay Group, known for producing numerous international television projects, including the series Peaky Blinders.
The hotel's luxury level is also emphasized by its rates: the cost of a stay starts at approximately $3,000 per night and can exceed $8,000. The complex's amenities include a spa, restaurants, sports activities, a kids' club, and a private beach to which guests are transported by a Rolls-Royce.
Filming Timeline and Geography
According to sources, the filming period for the fourth season is scheduled from late April to late October. However, as in previous seasons of The White Lotus, the action will not be confined to a single location.
Mike White, known for his attention to atmosphere and visual details, intends to utilize several locations along the Côte d'Azur. Additionally, some scenes are planned to be filmed at a hotel in Paris, which will expand the season's geography and the series' visual diversity.
Plot Shrouded in Secrecy
Details of the fourth season's plot are still kept under strict secrecy. It is only known that the story will once again focus on a group of guests and hotel staff over the course of one week—a format that has become a signature feature of the series.
Meanwhile, sources do not rule out that the Cannes Film Festival may be woven into the narrative, which would organically fit the location and open up new possibilities for developing the plot and social conflicts characteristic of The White Lotus.
The premiere date for the fourth season has not yet been announced.
