Ian McKellen let slip details about an episode in the film 'Avengers: Doomsday'.

Magneto Actor Likely Revealed a Key Scene in the Upcoming Marvel Blockbuster

Legendary British actor Ian McKellen, who has returned to the role of Magneto in the film 'Avengers: Doomsday,' appears to have accidentally revealed an important plot detail during a recent interview.

In a conversation with the YouTube channel Jake’s Takes, the actor nostalgically recalled filming the original 'X-Men' trilogy, paying special attention to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge scene. He mentioned that it was largely created using practical effects rather than digital graphics. However, while concluding this anecdote, McKellen unexpectedly shifted to his new project.

An Awkward Slip-Up

"I just destroyed New Jersey the other day. Oh, perhaps I shouldn't have said that," the actor remarked, clearly realizing he had spoken out of turn.

The phrase immediately captured the attention of fans and media outlets. It has been interpreted as a hint at a large-scale destruction scene for which Magneto will be responsible in the film's plot. Previously, official Marvel Studios materials had not disclosed such specifics, sticking to general descriptions of the global conflict.

Magneto as a Central Figure in the Conflict

If McKellen's words indeed point to the content of a scene, it indirectly confirms rumors about Magneto's central role in the events of 'Avengers: Doomsday.' Given his powers and the character's symbolic weight, such an episode could become one of the film's most spectacular and dramatic moments.

Of particular interest is the fact that this will mark McKellen's first appearance as Magneto within the core Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), following the integration of X-Men universe characters into the main canon.

A Legend Returns

The actor previously noted that his decision to return to the role was made easier by the respectful and warm atmosphere on set. According to McKellen, the younger actors and the project's crew hold great regard for the legacy of characters originating from 20th Century Fox films.

Studio Reaction and Release Date

As of publication, Marvel Studios has not commented on the actor's statement or confirmed whether his remark is a genuine spoiler or a jestful slip.

The premiere of 'Avengers: Doomsday' is scheduled for December 18th. Judging by such incidents, it seems increasingly challenging for the studio to keep the scale and ambition of one of the franchise's most anticipated crossovers under wraps.
