Apple TV+ has announced that the action-comedy 'Mayday' will premiere on September 4, 2026. The film is a co-production between Apple Original Films and Skydance Media and promises a blend of dynamic action, witty humor, and unusual character interactions.

At the center of the plot is U.S. Navy Lieutenant Troy "Assassin" Kelly, played by Ryan Reynolds. At the height of the Cold War, he is sent on a secret mission into Soviet airspace, but the operation fails, leaving Troy stranded alone in hostile territory.

On his path to survival, American pilot Troy encounters Nikolai Ustinov (Kenneth Branagh), a former KGB agent with a rugged exterior and an unexpected fondness for American culture. Instead of becoming an easy target, Troy gets a chance to survive. A chaotic, dangerous, yet comical alliance forms between the two, gradually evolving into an unexpected friendship.
