Chinese action star Jackie Chan is gearing up to begin filming on his latest movie, Pawfect Agents, a project that blends classic action spectacle with modern CGI technology. The film has already been presented to potential buyers at the FilMart international film market in Hong Kong, where it is generating significant interest from distributors.

Unconventional Plot and International Locations
At the story's core is a veteran special agent, ready to retire, who is forced back into the field following the theft of an ancient artifact—a golden Sanxingdui mask. His new partner? A high-tech spy dog.

The duo embarks on a large-scale adventure spanning several countries, with the action set to unfold across Europe and China. This gives the project an international scope, making it potentially appealing to a wide global audience.

A New Format for Jackie Chan
Directed by Leo Zhang, the film promises audiences a unique dynamic between its lead characters. Unlike many of Chan's previous films where he's paired with human co-stars, his key allies here will be animal agents.

This approach allows the film to blend traditional action with elements of an adventurous family movie, broadening its genre appeal.

Emphasis on Visual Technology
Computer-generated effects will play a significant role in the film. The visual concept is being overseen by artist Li Erpeng, known for his work showcased at international art venues.

For the shoot, the production team has secured rare access to iconic locations. Notably, they will be working at the Palace of Versailles, marking the first time a Chinese film crew has been granted permission to conduct 3D scanning of the Hall of Mirrors to create digital sets. Filming is also planned for the National Museum of Qatar, adding further visual and cultural grandeur to the project.

Production and Prospects
The film is being produced by LinKEY Sanxing Film and Shangjia Film, with international sales handled by Cappu Films.

Filming is scheduled to begin in September 2026. Given its unique concept, the blend of live-action and CGI, and the star power of Jackie Chan, the project is already being viewed as a potentially major release in the international market.
