Steven Spielberg shares his thoughts on the existence of aliens

Legendary director shared his views on extraterrestrial life during an appearance at the SXSW festival.

At the SXSW film festival in Austin, Steven Spielberg made a statement that has once again turned the spotlight on the topic of extraterrestrial civilizations. The director admitted that he believes intelligent life exists beyond Earth and considers this idea highly plausible.

"We are not alone in the universe"
During a featured interview, Spielberg noted that like most people, he doesn’t have concrete proof of extraterrestrial life. However, he is convinced that humanity is unlikely to be the only intelligent civilization.

The theme of extraterrestrial life will once again take center stage in the director’s upcoming project. On June 12, 2026, his film The Disclosure is set to hit theaters, focusing on humanity’s encounter with aliens.

The movie is expected to continue the tradition of Spielberg’s work, blending spectacular scale with philosophical reflections on humanity’s place in the universe and the possibility of making contact with other life forms.
