Is Dhurandhar connected to URI? The subtle clue that kicked off a viral fan theory online
Dhurandhar has stormed the box office with an impressive first-week run, but the spy thriller has also ignited an unexpected wave of fan theories. A tiny detail spotted by sharp-eyed viewers has reminded many of the 2019 Vicky Kaushal hit Uri: The Surgical Strike, leading to speculation about a possible shared universe.
One particular name mentioned in Dhurandhar instantly caught fans’ attention because it mirrors a character from Uri. That single reference has fuelled curiosity about whether both films might secretly exist in the same narrative world.
The Name That Started the Theory
In Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh’s character is introduced as Hamza — a young man chosen by an intelligence officer (played by R. Madhavan) to infiltrate Rehman Dakait’s criminal empire in Lyari. Throughout the film, Hamza’s true identity remains concealed, until the climax reveals that he is actually Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a prisoner sent on a covert mission in hopes of restoring his lost honour.
